ERASMUS MUNDUS: New International Master Programs

The Erasmus Mundus program is a cooperation and mobility program which promotes the European Union as a center of excellence in higher education around the world. It supports top-quality European Masters Courses and enhances the visibility and attractiveness of European higher education in third countries. It also provides generous EU-funded scholarships for third country nationals (this includes USA and Canada) participating in these Masters Courses, as well as scholarships for EU-nationals studying at Partner universities throughout the world. In these transnational programs of study, graduate students from all parts of the world work on their Masters in at least two EU countries.

German universities are faring very well in the Erasmus Mundus Program. Germany has exceeded its goal of participating in at least one third of all of the Erasmus Mundus Study Programs. Between 2004-2008, German universities will be involved in 50 out of 103 European Masters Study Programs, either as coordinator or partner. And in this year's round of competition, the results of which were just recently announced, German universities are involved in 13 of the 23 Masters Study Programs that were selected!
